Eye protection is one of the most important elements of workplace safety, shielding workers from impacts, dust, chemicals, and harmful radiation. Proguard’s range of safety spectacles and goggles are designed for durability, clarity, and comfort, and are tested to comply with strict European standards.
Our eyewear products are certified under the following EN Standards:
EN 166 – Personal Eye Protection
The core standard for industrial eye protection. Specifies requirements for mechanical strength (impact resistance), optical clarity, field of vision, and resistance to hazards such as droplets, dust, and molten metal.
EN 170 – Ultraviolet (UV) Filters
Covers protection against ultraviolet radiation. Filters are classified by scale numbers, ensuring the right balance between protection and visibility in environments with UV exposure (e.g., laboratories, outdoor work).
EN 172 – Sun Glare Filters for Industrial Use
Specifies requirements for sun glare protection in industrial environments. Ensures visual comfort while maintaining safety standards for mechanical strength and durability.
*Not all eyewear models carry the same certifications. Each product is clearly marked with its applicable EN standard(s) so users can select the correct protection for their working environment.
